I'm good with a tentative ID of "TIME KING" based on crystal specs that match, Rose vs. Yellow, and the jewel count difference from Broadcaster. I think both contemporary Broadcasters in the database and Broadcaster ads of this time period show or suggest Rose Gold. Fifth has one Broadcaster record entered as "Rose Gold". The ads support that ID.
TIME KING based on crystal specs, jewel count, and Rose vs Yellow gold. It's a "guess" based on the crystal specs. The case diminsions between the two are very close - like rounding or caliper error close. So Rose w/ lower jewel count was BROADCASTER, and subject watch is yellow w/ higher jewel count (and non-"Rose" dial). Two ticks tentative, and we update if/when another ad comes along.
It's all speculation, but so goes Bulova ID'ing without a supporting ad.
The Broadcaster ads all suggest or state Rose gold. This yellow gold /dial combo may have been something other than Broadcaster. Now I'm thinking unknown, as we do see period-similar watches with different model names based on Rose vs Yellow....
So Broadcaster, Time King or unknown? A tentative Time King based on crystal specs may be better than Broadcaster or unknown . Fifth, was your proposed TIME KING ID based on a crystal packet, or data from one of the various crystal catalogs? We have used crystal specs for tentative ID's.... but an ad would be nice :)
I'm eating crow.....II see there was a Yellow Gold Broadcaster in the 1955 Bulova Price Lists, so my Rose vs Yellow argument is bogus. Someone could probably cross reference prices to our ads, but I'm not gonna check.
I'd thought since all our ads and watch records show Broadcaster as Rose and 17 jewels, then the Yellow Gold w/ 21 jewel count differece could have been Time King...but now I'm not sure.....as we see a Yellow Broadcaster below.
....so I am back to Unknown for now.....
