This is I believe a Rocket from 1945. I got it for the crystal to put on my Military Miss but after seeing the Rocket ad I think it is a nice addition to my growing 1940s collection. It is 14K rose gold filled but it is pretty worn. The face is in decent shape and the movement is running.
Update: Changing this to a Ladies watch after finding an ad verifying that detail.
I forgot to add it is small but bigger than the typical ladies watch of the time about 18mm or 19mm square and 14mm band width.
Although the referenced ad shows a black dial for the Rocket, I'm inclined to think subject watch is a Rocket variant.

Yes you are right it does look like a dark dial. I just read rose gold and didn't think of the dial color.
I agree..
1945 Bulova Rocket - Keep 'em coming Kathy!
I think Rocket is a good match.
1945 Bulova Rocket
It's wonderful to put a name to a face. I wonder why they called it the 'Rocket'?
I've updated the listing to be a mens watch.

I was thinking it was an odd name for a ladies watch but it is exactly the same case and size to the Military Miss and American Nurse so it would seem odd for a mens too. But in any case I am happy to put the name to it. The other one someone posted with the black face said his dad wore it so I guess the size was worn by both?
Got a band today so I could wear this one. I really like the size of these watches.
