Hi all
I recently acquired this , what I believe to be a " 1943 Airwarden " It is 10k rolled gold plate bezel. Sterling base and stainless back. the watch is 26mm dia excluding the crown,
the hands look as though they were once lumed , the hour hand red and the minute hand green.
Having looked more closely at the dial now l have cleaned it up the numbers are not luminous so l am thinking it may be a " Nighthawk ' not an airwarden
Members comments would be greatly apreciated.
When I bought it it was missing the stem and crown, which had snapped off. I have replaced both. The watch runs but definitely needs a service
Nice watch. The hands were lumed originally. Air warden.
Hi JP
This the watch thatl was wanting the hands for as per my email to you. Although the hands look to have been in red and green l believe they should have both been in either white or green.
Air Wardens had green lume.
1943 ad.

Hi bobbee yes l had seen that but when l cleaned the dial all the numbers are in gold thats whyl thought it might be a nighthawk

Some of the dials had lume paint over gold numbers George. It's possible the lume came off with cleaning.
Air Warden works for me. Nice watch George.
Air Warden
1943 ad on left, watch on right. Are the lugs the same? They sure are close.

Lugs do not quite match - but are close, and the seconds tracks are different and not in the same location, also the numerals are a different style.
We're really yet to find a good match for this style of watch with the closest we can find being the Air Warden.
