Watch Description

This is a tank watch with no exterior identification. The dial is a two-tone scheme: white around the outer edge, and salmon in the center. It has what appear to be printed Roman numerals at the 12, 3, 6, 9 positions. There is NO seconds hand. The only other dial marking is BULOVA at the usual location above the center. The crystal is not original. Inside the bottom case is signed Anchor Stainless Base Metal. The 6AF movement is working (pretty well actually, it seems to keep time), and is marked with serial number 257568, Bulova Watch Co., Swiss, date symbol T, 15 jewels, unadjusted. I have search the ads on this site and found models which appear similar, but the Roman numerals and, in particular, the lack of seconds hand rules them out.  If this a legit Bulova, it seems odd to have the Swiss made movement; however, if it was manufactured in 1942 during the war, that would make sense. American industrial production was focused on the production of armaments. In any event, I am stumped and eagerly await further insight from the Panel.

This, alas is not a Bulova watch. The Anchor case indicates that a Bulova movement/dial has been fitted into a non-Bulova case. Bulova Non-Conforming

Unfortunately, I agree with Geoff. I'd say the movement is dated to 1932 and the case is not something produced by Bulova.

This has been cobbled together to create a watch, and isn't something created (as presented) by Bulova which is why we'll need to ID as Non-conforming.

The style itself mimics that of a 1940s Bulova President.

Thank you, and I am fine with the determination, and thank you for dating the movement to the 1930's. Would you know if a Bulova model ever had a dial such as this?
