Watch Description

What confuses me is the back case serial number starts with a C, i cannot find any Bulova records showing the letter C used. I found the 5AB listed inside as the movement, I used https://www.watchophilia.com/general-information/bulova-movements/ to determine the movement was used between 1936 to 1949. 

The inside of the case has cursive writing it looks like 5-10-47 I think. also has 10/g/3

 The only thig I been able to find out was the movement code, the Back case serial number I could not find since there are no "C" serial numbers, you list only L,M,N,P,T,A,B. 

It was my mom's how might have gotten it from her mom. 

Thanks for any help in identifying it.

Welcome to myBulova and thank you for sharing your mother's watch with us.  Your watch is a Christine like this one https://mybulova.com/watches/1947-christine-9518.  It is one of my favorite models and a popular model of the time.  

The serial # for the ladies watches in the 1940s is a bit different to other decades.  It is theory that the letter indicates the year, A = 1940, B = 1941, C = 1942, and so on.  Your movement has a T which is also 1942 so I have updated the date for you.  The writing on the inside of the case is from the watch getting serviced.

Kathy I think the movement might be later....I think I'm seeing a 47, but could be totally wrong. I'm not sure I'm seeing a clear T for 42

We have a number of adverts for the Christine ranging from 1941 to 1949.

This 1947 advert shows a great match for the subject watch andf is also listed as a Bulova Christine "A"

Giada, can you please double check the movement and advise if you see either a T symbol or a 47.....I think either way we have our model and it would be good to confirm that C = 1942 in the case serial number.

I am looking at the picture I took of the movement (above).  I do not see a T or 47.

I'll take the watch apart again, see if I can get a better picture.

Stephen here is where I am seeing the T and I think the 47 you are seeing is actually the 17 for 17 SEVENTEEN JEWELS.

Kathy, sadly the new image is not appearing, but I can clearly see the letter T and 17 on the opposite side of the screw.
