I'm pretty sure this one is a 1942 Chief. It has a 10AX 15 jewel movement in a 10k rgp case with a stainless back. I acquired this one with a broken mainspring, broken balance staff, a worn out setting lever, and a scratched and cloudy crystal. You never know what you're going to get with those watches on that auction site. But it's all fixed and running good now.

I love this watch. In 1939-40 it was the "Ranger". Then changed to the Chief. My 1940 version is what started me on my collecton. Grandpa's 1940 Ranger he picked during WWII.

Thanks Plainsmen. I like this styling also. It looks like the ones made in the mid 30's. The first one I bought of this style turned out to be a Frankenstein. The case was an aftermarket. I still have it around here some where. I'm going to take a look at yours, if you have it on here.
Edit: Just looked at yours Plainsmen. It's nice. Still has the correct band on it. I like the look of a little patina on the original dials too. I think that gives the watch character.
Rescued Treasure! Great looking watch merc, well done.
