I think this is pretty much All-Original, except for the GS Crystal.
Engraved bezel = Lone Eagle A, non engraved = Engineer, just my opinion, but worth discussing...more

I didn't take notice of the difference in engraving... I see now that this one has been debated before.
LONE EAGLE in 1940 and '41
ENGINEER in 1942 which possibly has a Gold Caseback (?)
Case engraving would be variants of. eg: 'A', 'B' , 'C' ect, ect. as seen in other models of the era.
IMO
The Watch matches the descriptive text of the 1940 LONE EAGLE ad which clearly states "Stainless Steel back"

and 'ENGINEER' would have a different bezel opening as GS lists the 'LONE EAGLE' as the only model accepting the MT 346-23 Crystal.

Jeff,
Do you remember the GS number that you used on this watch?

The GS Crystal shown in the photo was in the watch when I bought it... I just checked MT 346-23 shown above by Fifth and it is a perfect fit.

Thanks for the conformation Jeff,
The three that I have also use the same crystal, so at least they made more than a few of these in 1939-1942. What the called them all is a different story...
Greg
My gold back has the LE crystal dimension and no engraving...same bracelet as above...and has the grooves on the lugs
Here is the three that I have,
L to R, 1941 10AX with stainless back, 1942 10AX with stainless back, 1939 10AM with Gold back.
Notice the differences in bands and hands, it looks like the center watch has had the lugs cut off at the rings to allow a 10mm band to be used, while the other two have the same end links, the right is a B/R brand and the left is a Bretton.

"F" variant determined by this advert showing the engraved version.
