Im very new to this stuff, but I found a 1941 alden that looks the same except its not black... Ill keep looking.

 Lugs look very different to me. The lugs on the watch are raised on the case and have a sweeping dip to them, the one in the advert are smooth and rounded

The cases are the same Gents. Hands are not correct on black dialed watch, but that don't make it a Non-Beacon.

Wayne, I think the point 5th was making is that trhe cases are very different. Not the hands.

I tend to agree, the case on yours has curved ends, the Beacon in the ad above does not.

If there are other watches on this site that have the curved ends and are ID'd as a Beacon, I'd say that they have been mis-identified.

Thoughts?
