I believe this one is the 1940 Bulova "Stamford" model. I originally bought it to use for parts. But after receiving it I took the movement apart and everything looked good, so I cleaned and oiled it and it ran perfectly. It wanted to live so bad, I had to show it a little love. This is the little ugly duckling as I received it.
This is how it responded to a little TLC.

Brilliant work.
Stamford.
Top notch work and an excellent outcome. Stamford from me.
Agree with Stamford. How do you get the dial to come out so nice?
In reply to Agree with Stamford. How do by Andersok
I had it refinished. I wasn't real impressed with the way this one turned out.

Ah, I thought perhaps you a trick up your sleeve for cleaning, thanks
Stamford all the way. I think the dial is nice, the watch looks great.
Looking with zoom I can see the marks on the dial.
Poor job by you-know-who.
Definitely rather have a poor original than a poor redial .

Me too Bobbee. Kind of like an automobile, I rather have one with a faded paint job rather than one with a bad paint job.
