Here is the first of this model variant for the DB. It is a 1940 Bulova Newton with a black dial. It looks like the dial does not fit but that is an illusion created by the crystal I used to fit in there. I am certain the dial is true to the watch. The case is yellow gold plate with stainless back. The movement is a 10AX with a T date code dating the movement to 1942. The case serial number begins with zero so thinking 1940 date for this one.
Well if we have a red dial variant why not a black dial one too, although I suspect the red dial version didn't come from the factory that way :-)
