I picked this watch up this week to go with the other gray and black model I posted. It is the same case as my Clara Barton with an 8mm lug width, gray hands, white second hand. I am guessing an earlier model. It is a little beat up but I think it adds to the story of a working watch like this would have been. Interesting that it has a shield on the outside of the case as well. Thanks for looking, probably an unknown model for now.
Wow... I don't think I've ever seen that watch in the tri-colored dial like that! Such a nice find!
I'm Unknown with a model name, but I'm betting it's something striking!

Thank you, I was happy to find it : ) I just love these dials!
....it never ceases to amaze me. Where has this one been for the last 80 years? How can it be that we've not seen one like it yet? There is a possibility that the dial was repainted in this fashion as a one off (notch). It could well be Unknown or perhaps considered Non-Conforming. Either way, it's a cool watch Kathy.

Thank you for your thoughts on it Geoff!

Here it is next to the other one I picked up. Because they are so similar I am thinking a line of some sort? Both 1939s.
Very cool, nice find Kathy. Never seen one like it before. Could possibly be a repainted dial (notch), but an excellent one; detail is spot on and it looks to be all original Bulova components.
My gut feeling is it's real, and was targeted at such a small audience that it wasn't nationally advertised. I am leaning towards Unknown for now. Keep searching :o)

Thank you Bob! Because it so closely matches the design of my other one like this I am thinking a small batch as well.
I've seen notches on factory dials, across many brands. The notch doesn't necessarily indicate a re-dial, but the lack of a notch would indicate it isn't, if that makes any sense.
Am I seeing lume residue there, Kathy?

Reverend Rob I do not notice any lume. I need to think about that before taking them apart.
Panel, any further comments?
