Watch Description

This is really interesting. It seems like a Phantom case... but has one of those faux military dials.

Took a G-S PMX 383 crystal with little fiddling.

I'm inclined at Unknown, or a redialed Phantom?

We have seen this case once before and classified this as unknown like this one.  https://mybulova.com/watches/1939-unknown-5045

That being said I do not think the dial is original nor the hands.  Looks to me like a refinished dial with replaced hands.  Unknown or non-conforming would work for me.

Agreed. The dial and hands are not origainl to this watch as and such we would be unable to correctly provide a model ID. Case serial indicates 1939 but the lumed dial and hands suggest mid-late 1920s.

1939 Bulova Non-conforming for me, but a neat looking custom Bulova all the same.

I was about to say I have one just like this but I checked the serial number. The one I have is this exact one. I’m not sure why someone would go through all the trouble of making such a drastic change to the hands and dial. It must have been pretty cheap to do so back in the day.
