I have had this Bulova watch for about 30 years and bought it from dealer who told me he got it when purchasing contents of Jewelers safe who passed away and it still had the tags on it never worn, I seldom wear it and would like to find out as much information as I can if I decide to part with it.
WOW! was the first word to come out of my mouth. This is in such amazing condition.
Looking now for a match.
I'd say you have a very clean example of a Bulova Alexander.
The 3 other examples we have in the database are all dates 1941. so perhaps your watch is 1938.
Panel...thoughts?
I think I spent 25-30 minutes on this beauty last night and just couldn't come to a clear decision because of the proposed 1948 year.....maybe it is 1938? I'm going to think on that.
1948 was just a guess on my part, it is marked 14k I have noticed a lot of Bulova watches from this time frame are gold filled. I was thinking of taking it to a jeweler in town to have them take the back off and take pictures of the movement, do you think this would help you identify it?
Super nice condition! My take is that subject watch is a 1938 and an Alexander, like this one
1938 Bulova Alexander
and a real treasure! This ad clearly states case as yellow gold.
