1937 American Clipper - Case 36.5 x 25. - B-10k rgp inc. snap back - New crystal Had to custom fit - OR (CMH-525) - Runs ,keeps good time - Not sure of the movement belonging to this watch.
I'm inclined to an American Clipper ID. The dial and the hands are not matching though. It seems as if the numbers on the dial should be applied, not painted? I don't really see it as Commander from the period and the Crockett is different in the case engraving out to the lugs.
The engraved case does appear to be one that was used for the American Clipper:
However, the dial does not match the style used for these models. Black was an option for the AC line, but I could find none that had a full numeral dial.
Mention of crystal CMH525 would have correct dimensions for the AC case: 25.7x16.7 (not 17.7 width stated by owner).

I've had questions on the authenticity of the watch.
The dial seems as if it was a really poor redial job, the numbers are more of a copper color than a gold.
Something is just not right with this watch....
The case will not snap shut tight also.
too many doubts going on with this one.
I'm against an American Clipper purely because of the dial. I've not been able to find any reference advert that shows anything other than the typical number/index dial combo.
I agree that the case matches that of an American Clipper, but the dial puts this into either the 'Unknown' or 'Non-conforming" category for me.
