This is a really early 21 Jewel guys in the 10AE series. At first I thought it was the Ben Hur but then saw that the Ben Hur is etched only. So this smooth bezel Ben Hur is actually the Calhoun I think. Lugs are sort of cool as this watch looks like a Banker/Ranger with a sort of twist on the bezel right before the lugs. The "Calhoun" ad is from 1938 and it's in the database.
I'm good with Calhoun for that smooth bezel with the twisties near the lugs
Wow, that shined up very nicely plains, well done. I'm going with Will, Calhoun, sweet watch.
If anyone is interested, I think I have one or two of those bracelet straps shown in the advert laying around (they're NOS). The buckle is plastic but maybe it could be replaced. As I recall the strap is a bit on the short side. For display purposes it would look great.
The bottom line of the seconds area ring in the ad looks to extend lower than the 5 & 7 - subj watch bottom line looks to be level with the numbers, minor difference. Looks like a good match otherwise and very nice presentation - Calhoun
Everything looks like s great match for the Bulova Calhoun, minus the slight variation in the dial.
