I don't remember. I think we have other ads similar to above, but with engraving on verticle bezel by 1933? And none of those have that dial either?
Migtht be a Lone Eagle as it is 17 jewel and the commentator's i have seen are 15 jewel

So it is a Lone Eagle???
1936 (square) movement in a 1938 case.
1938 = "Commentator".
That's when we first see ads for it, so anything before then is a LE.
We have two ID'd as Commentator, one 1937, one 1936, both wrong I think.
This would be the first with a correct date.
Edit- but a wrong jewel count.
These say 15 jewles and subject watch is 17 jewles. So is it a movement swap?
swap movements is also possible, but I do not know what you have against LE advert, for me the shape of case is same and number of jewels matches
