This appears to be the first model of the Dexter in the database. It is a 10KT Yellow Rolled Gold plate hinged case with a 10AB 7-jewel movement with a triangle date code. The balance pivot is broken. I cannot find a interchangeable match to the 10AB movement in the catalogs. If anyone knows what balance might work I would appreciate it.
Nice!!
I believe you are correct. It's great to finally have an example in the database!
1935 Bulova Dexter.
The ad does say white gold but this is yellow gold. I assume there were two variants or possibly three.
I don't find any other matches to this case in either white or yellow. Possibility of variants of the watch based on color. Watch is a match to the ad concerning face, hands, case shape and likely jewel count (not called out in Dexter ad, so in all probabability less than 15). "Bargain Price" also seems to indicate lower jewel count than standard Bully of the time. I will go tentative

Nice find!
That's $466 in today's money, not insignificant when you consider it was the height of the Depression.

Nice find and good ad match.
