Watch Description

The first tonneau design Bulova of the 1930s. Notice the familiar diamond & ball engraving pattern used on the 1931 Lone Eagle III & 1932/1933 President. Also interesting to note is the smooth sides on the case, no more opposing arrows. This watch must be pretty scarce, it's the first one I have seen, other than the ad.  The ads are dated 1934.

Hi Wayne, Cool watch find and great sleuthing but isn't the square for 1936 in this case. I doulbt very much it could be 1927 or 1946. Am I seeing 2 date code stamps by the serial #  one looks like the 1932 bent T ?

Not doubting the ID at all, but I'd call it for a 1936 model if it's a square.

Date Symbol is an X = 1933 all day. Error of omission. Nice catch!

I doubt there were two uniquely different models named Envoy in 1933.  Wayne's supporting ads above are 1934.  Case SN suggests 1932, but his entered case SN is only 5 digits?  Don't we usually see 7 digits for case SN?  Fifth  posted a 1934 ad for "Ambassador"  in a watch currently under review, but we still have this possible transitional 1933/34 between the tonneau and rectangular Envoy, made more complex by the AMBASSADOR ad Fifth posted.

  • To quote one very insightful member: 'if this were easy it wouldn't be any fun'. IWaynes' example is Dated 1932 and it appears the 'ENVOY' transition occurs in 1933, according to the ads ?

edit: The Movement is Dated 1933, although I see nothing to support.
