This one is a 1931 Bulova and that's about all I know about it. The movement is a 9AF and it has the "shield", "omega" and "F" stamped on it for date codes. The crystal is not the correct one. It's the right size, but doesn't have the right curvature. I think the correct crystal is a G-S MX458, but I didn't have one. Something I have observed that has me puzzled, Bulova likes to use "666" a lot in serial numbers. Even some of their water-proof models say to a depth of "666".
Nothing stamped on the outside of the back and nothing to show case metal content.
As pointed out by Merc, this new advert show the Yacht Club model aslo as the 1931 Bulova Winston (Official Bulova pitchbook advert).

Yeah that is a real odd thing to see in an official advert...could be why it was pulled from print. It certainly never made the Saturday Evening Post.
1931 IMO is the year when we see the transistion away from radium dials and hands. Like the 1931 Lone Eagle, it is possible the Winston was also available with both options throughout 1931....or maybe not and the advert just got it wrong.
The difficulty is, we have two contradicting adverts what look to be showing the same watch available in yellow gold. In cases such as this I feel we should defer to the official Bulova advert rather than a jewellers newspaper print.
