Submitted is, I think, a 1931 Sky King. I'm not 100% sure about the movement symbol. In the close-up, it looks likea shield pointing at the zero in the serial number. I'be been having bad luck getting well engraved symbols.
I don't think this is the Shy King as they are two toned.
Yellow around the crystal and white for the rest of the case or
white around the crystal and yellow for the rest.
Great looking watch!!
Great looking 1931 Bulova Sky King. There wasn't anything else produced during this period that matched the style. The case appears to be two-tone as the back case is white gold filled and the front bezel is yellow.
Yes, the rest of the case is white. I didn't include a photo of that. The back looks kind of gold, but that was all lighting.
It's a Sky King, I was thinking it was all yellow too, until admin pointed out the back. 1931 seems the right year based on case s/n and the 1931 symbol which could resemble a shield.
Oh, and for the record, I think there were many watches of the period that match the style of the Sky King. The period between 1928 and 1932 was the height of Bulova style in my opinion. This is my favorite period in Bulova history. I love them all.
Geoff...judging from the size of your collecion, you've got some other favorites, as well.
