21 Jewels.  I can't find a date marking in any of the suggested places-- I'm guessing 1931 based on the design.  Hands are incorrect.

Chances are that it's a replacement movement. As for what I can tell Bulova didn't produce these 21 jewelled 10ANs until around 1935.

It should have both a date stamp and serial number on the movement. If not then its certainly a later movement.

Other than that the case, dial and hands all look authentic.

Yeah my 1931 Lone Eagle has the raised gold numbers and is a 10AN as well, but I can't recall the jewel's and I'm not at home to chek it out again.  Though looking at the one above... mine has a serial number on the movement, and I don't know if I see one on this one?

Hey all,

The 21Js were only used on the "Presidents" up to Royales... except for the 1939/40 American Eagles, the late 1940s- 50s Excellency Series, 1949- 51+ Academy Awards  (and "X" dial variants, sporting the same cases and 7AA movements) and perhaps a few other exceptions, like the "unknown" early 40s Square Tanque with the "B" style dial, Jerin just won/posted... Weren't all the (4) Loners, 17Rubies??

BEST :-)  William

My 1932 President has 9AT 17j which is correct.

1933 ad shows President 21j 10AN Swiss made & Bulova USA made 21j in 1934 ref movement db.

21J is not correct for a 1931 Bulova LE.
