Very cool Bulova Gladiator I purchase on eBay pre-serviced for about $135. The case, dial, and hands are all in great condition and the band is frayed a bit around the edges but is still good enough to wear. The case serial number implies that the watch is from 1931 but the square symbol on the movement implies its from either 1927 or 1936; likely a swapped movement. Probably one of my favorite watches by Bulova because of all the ornate engravings and the two-tone case.
1931 Bulova Gladiator looks to be a good match. Another great ebay buy for you. Now I know who the competition is...LOL.
Gladiator it is! The movement is from 1936, given it is made in USA.
10AE movements first started being produced by Bulova in the USA around 1934, so we can rule out it being a 1927 movement.
I'd hate to ID as non-conforming as it is pretty much correct except for the slightly later movement.
1931 Bulova Gladiator.
1931 Bulova Gladiator as ID'd by the case an case s/n. Not concerned that the movement is replacement
