A most unusual Bulova and certainly a new, albeit an Unknown model. Stepped lugs are engraved in a heretofore unknown pattern and cover the bracelet spring bars. Case has Jan 11, 1927 Patent Date and is marked 14 k GF. This is, as far as I can find the oldest Bulova we have with what some call the 'dress' dial having applied numerals and Bulova name. Case side engraving matches my other "Step Lug" Bulova. Dial refinished by International.

Unknown... now that's different.
Unknown. Killer!
Another of the Great Unknowns!
Ah that's a.....ummmm....it's a....ugh it's on the tip if my tongue.....an 'Unknown' that's what it is...... see I knew I hadn't seen it somewhere. :-)
If we ever introduce a rating on the contidion of a watch it would be something like:
- scrap
- very worn
- worn
- near mint
- mint
- Geoff Baker standard!
:-)
Thanks Stephen but you forgot one
- Some idiot tried to pry the back open on the hinge side

Oh, sorry - Unknown, had that in the description.

I switched out the bracelet on this gem a couple weeks back. I picked up this wonderful old deployment model that looks very good on it. Normally this era watch had the polished Rhodium plating on the case, this watch is more of a soft nickel finish which is a perfect match to the bracelet!
Unknown but lovely
It would appear both our 1929 Unknowns have the identical "dress" dial. Congrats on this beauty!
