I recently purchased this watch from 'Timemachines' - (Mike C) and have updated the record
The iconic first generation cut corner Bulova Lone Eagle in what is most certainly the only clam shell case it has ever slept in . This watch is in remarkable condition for it's age. There is not even one watch makers service code inside the pristine case. Little green gunk here and there, a couple nicks and scratches but there is no wear on this watch - literally one of the 'rarely worn' watches we all dream of. The clam shell case is as clean and crisp as any I've seen anywhere and still closes with a distinctive snap. Mike told me he bought this watch from the nephew of the original owner who claimed to have been give the watch by the Colonel HIMSELF. An unsubstantiated provenance for certain but whoever the original owner was, he obviously cherished it mightily and treated it like the treasure it is today. Mike also supplied me with what appears to be the original strap, buckle, pins and crystal.

Will - to answer your question, no - there are no maker marks or name anywhere. Following are some photos of this amazing display calm shell - it is FABULOUS!!

Its slightly confusing when we all say 1st generation of The Lone Eagle. The watch actually presented to Charles Lindbergh after his plane landed in Paris is a different watch. I don't have any archival pics... maybe some help would be great. Then he appeared in magazine ads holding this model. But the watch Bulova gave him is much different. John V. "Time & Again"

John, Lindbergh was given at least two Bulova watches during this period, a 1926/27 Bulova Conqueror pre flight, which Bulova reportedly sent to all the pilots that registered for the Orteig prize money, and the presentation piece by Arde Bulova upon his return to the US aboard the USS Memphis. The presentation piece looks like a 1927 President model.
There are also other Bulova timepieces that were sent to him post flight by 3rd parties such as the Missouri Historical Society.
