OMG!

Don't ever SELL that one, if you don't have to... This is the first solid 18 karat White Gold CONQUEROR I've seen! I have a rare (original) silver dial LONE EAGLE I that I'll have to soon part with myself (also WG finish) but this watch is an ULTRA RARE keepsake... And I suspect (due to prior lack of collecting, by those of means...) that nearly ALL solid 14 and 18 karat Bulovas, have already been melted down :-(

Congrats :-)

Thanks for the nice comments, when I first got this watch,  the owner said it was a gift from Henry Ford to her husbands grand father.  Oral histories ....., you can understand my suspitions. But that's the story. I was so excited when I first got it. I hurried home ( like the boy in Willie Wanka) haha. and the research began. I made one phone inquerry through this site, and the person said "well....it's probably a $200.00 dollar watch or so" I had to smile, as I am NO dummy. So I thanked him, and went on my way! The only thing I had done was a good cleaning, it runs perfectly fine.

Sounds like whoever quoted the $200 just didn't hear the 18k part.  VERY NICE WATCH.  If you ever want to sell, let me know.

You might want to consider that oral history more seriously.  It could be true.  Don't let it get lost.

I do intend to ask the original owner more about it and will report back any info I can find out. oral history sometimes is the most we can hope for. Fortunately I know the person well enough that she won't feel insulted when I ask.

Ok, as a self proclaimed Conqueror / Lone Eagle expert, this one has me stumpted and the only thing that has me stumpted is that corner deisgn.

It's a very common design used by a number of different watch companies in the early and mid 20s. I have one at home just like it (I'll have to check the make and gold content).

Chances are what we have here is the very first run of the Bulova Conqueror of 1925.

We certainly don't see this corner design in any of the Bulova vintage ads (although as I just said it was a common design for other watch manufactures).

Is it possible that this is the first design Bulova used before switching to the design we see used in the ads and then the common design we tend to see on all Conqueror/Lone Eagles.

A very interesting find and a rare bird IMO.

I agree with you 110% on this.  I've been trying to figure this one out myself.   This is a case design that I also have seen many times just never with the enameled highlights.  Interesting theory that it's a first run Conqueror.   Whatever it is one thing is for sure, it's very, very rare.
