Note: Was having coffee with a friend, noted Glycine Airman specialist James Sadilek, and he reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out this watch. He mentions that he knows I like the old funky ornate stuff, and asks if I am interested in it. "Certainly", I said, “how much”? He tells me nothing, he doesn’t have a market for these kind of ladies watches. As a jeweler, I find it fascinating how routine this kind of craftsmanship was in that era. These days, Lange & Sohne hand engraves the balance cock on their movements and asks a 100K for them. Just saying.
I started to sand out the crystal, but immediately realized it was glass. Doable, but a great bit of effort, so maybe not. A glass crystal like this seems unlikely to turn up.
Dear ggmy775, a very nice watch you got there. It is from a time Bulova gave model numbers still before changing to names. That makes it the 6720. In December 1924, the watch was baptized Norma, but your watch is from before that. Hence 6720.
Alex, would the model number be slightly different because it's not a 18KT solid gold case as is listed in the adverts?
There is no advert matching the gold fllled + 17J movement combination. Model numbers of this period varied slightly based on gold content and jewel count, so this may have something different, 6719 for example. If you look at this advert there are 4 examples of the 25yr gold filled versions being one number less than their solid gold versions. So 6720 being 18KT solid gold and thus the 6719 being the gold filled.

Hi Admin, I am aware of that ad and the system that can be derived from that, but as a rule (for myself) I identify watches following existing ads. Since no 6719 ad has ever been found, I prefer to identify the watch following the ad we do know and that is 6720.

As referenced in the above link to the 6519 ID, the following comments and observations were noted:
First number of Ladies Models:
- 1 = 10 ligne
- 5 = 5 ligne
- 6 = 6 ligne
- 9 = 9 ligne
Second number of Ladies Models:
- 5 = 15 jewels
- 7 = 17 jewels
- 8, 9 = 17 jewels with platnuim/gold case with set gems (diamonds and/or sapphires)
Last two or one digit of Ladies Models:
- Even = Solid Gold case
- Odd = Gold Filled, Gold + Platinum or Silver case
We've applied this rule to other 6519s: https://mybulova.com/watches/1924-6519-9268

Now that I see how the formula is applied, I entirely understand why this would be a 6719, rather than a 15 jewel 6519. I very much appreciate seeing the table, an how it is applied. All that from 1924!
Hi,
After reading the comments, I opened the case up and looked at the inscriptionsfrom the inside case back under the microscope. As you mentioned, it is indeed 19K Gold Filled, not 9K. thank you for know your stuff so well. Is there anyway I can edit my description to reflect what it actually reads? By the way, I referred to it as a 6519 because of this item in the database: https://mybulova.com/watches/1924-6519-12099 . Except for the crown, it appears to be essentially quite similar. Of course you are better served to do the research with the adverts and line books. Thanx again
Jimmy

Thanx Geoff!
We have this April 1924 advert listing a 25yr gold filled, 15J version as the Tulip.

Based on research and better informed opinions above, my current vote is
