Ok here's another for you guys. Now first off, I did find this in the member database under "1924 6514", whatever that means. This is in an original Bulova box and plastic gold colored Bulova case inside the box.The inside of the lid case says "Bulova Fifth Avenue and a banner with Miss America in it. It also has a certificate but the case number written down is 790804 which doesn't match the inside case # of the watch. This is also a hinged case that swings out to remove the movement.
I also looked up the movement #47781 and it comes up with a 1924.
So all info is seen in the pics. I dated this at 1924 with the * symbol. Maybe ya'll can clarify what model I have?
Thanks again guys!
Nice ole gal. I agree it looks like the fill version of the 1924 6514 (which may be 6513).
June 6th, 1925 ad snippet for 6514 on left. Two "blurry" 1925 Pater ads in database, and a clearer 1926 ad (below right) click on graphic for full ad.
We have earlier ads for 6514. I thik top left is latter ad, suggesting overlap in naming based on ads.
Cute little ladies model Bobby, I like it. We ID'd her sister earlier this year as a model 6514 around the same solid gold vs gold filled discussion.

For the sake of consistency we should make sure both of these watches are ID as the same model. I don't know exactly where the 6513 suggestion comes from, do we show any adverts with this model name? At this point I'd be more inclined to go with 6514, we have seen solid and filled watches with the same name.

No ads for 6513 as filled. Just other model numbers in ads for this period show the filled versions as one digit lower than the solid number. A pattern perhaps, so its just a guess that this model follows the pattern. The "expensive" magazine ads of the period seem to place advertising emphasis on the solid gold versions. I'm also guessing that newspapers were more affordable and had wider circulation at the time, and advertising may be geared towards the more affordable fill watches. I'm continuing to check for newspaper ads which show model numbers. An ad would make this more than a guess based on a pattern.
See Admin's commet on page 4 of this watch record for possible pattern w/ odd/even last model numbers for fill vs solid and/or 18K fill.
