I believe this is a 155 or Minerva depending on the date. Not sure if it is a 1923 or 1924 but based on the others in the DB I am going with 1924. Also has a 16 jewel movement which is different than the 15 jewels in the ads.

Hi Kathy, nice watch. It is from late 1923 so I would go for 155. I see you bought a Watchophilia watch. Nice.

Hi Alex, Oh ok nice, I will change the date! I didn't know it was a Watchophilia watch. I got it in a lot on ebay, I will be posting the other two soon.
Yes, the third one you bought is very special. Only 2 recorded so far.

That is great to hear, I will look forward to hearing more when I post it :-)
Base on the case serial number and the second number being a '3', I would date to 1923. The use of 16 jeweled movements in these early watches is quite standard.

I thought we had discussed that about the 15 and 16 jewel movements being used. Good to know.
I also forgot to mention that this watch and the others I got and my 156 all have either GF or 14K on the end that opens the back.

Is the one marked 14K solid gold?
I've seen GF stamps on many 1920s men's, but never noticed on the ladies.

Yes the one stamped 14K is a 156 and solid 14K. I didn't notice it until I got these and checked the 156 I already had.
1923 Bulova 155 - a real beauty Kathy! I'm anxious to see the next ones.
That is gorgeous! Another great addition to your collection! Congrats!
