Hello folks - brand new here. I'm looking for information on what plating materials were used on Bulova A-11s from around 1942. Mine does not look like chrome. Maybe nickel?

The Silver cased Military watches can sometimes be identified by the appearance of what is called 'fire scale'.
The purple / red discoloration is caused by a chemical reaction that occurs during the plating process.
I have seen it on both the Bulova A-11 and the 10AK Military watch cases.
