Bulova 10BZAC 30J sweep second hand replacement

Submitted by ehayden4 on

Hi all, working on a 10BZAC 30 J watch and broke the sweep seconds hand. From what I can tell from online resources the hole size is 0.18mm and length is 1.4. Can anyone point me in the direction of the correct replacement? Thank you!

The chart shows the interchangeability of the Seconds hand (far right column).

I usually have luck  on fleaBay, there is information in the catalogs section on how to 'read' the Bulova packaging for the correct color and length.

That style of hand looks like it is a 'Fils' which is labelled 'F' on Bulova NOS hands. I would look on ebay for:

Bulova 65C GF (for gold fils). Here is a list of movements that take that size (0.18) second hand. Note, this list is for movements that match the hour, minute and second hands, not just the second hand so there may be other Bulova movements that take the 0.18 second hand but have different size hour and minute hands. You can look up any other movements on that size and check and see if the second hand is the correct size.

Regarding the length of the hand, you said 1.4 which can't be correct. Did you mean 14? Bulova says to measure from the narrowest diameter of the dial from the outer side of the the second track to the outer side on the opposite side. If you have the existing hand you can just measure from the center of the tube to the end of the hand and then double that.

As an example, here is a sweep second hand labelled 'GF17' for the 10BCC, which the site above says is 0.18mm.
