Thanks for the input. I would like to see it go to a collector rather than melted. I'm an accutron collector and certainly would not sell off solid gold ones for melt value. This one appears to be unique and I'd hate to see it lost forever. 

I have removed the movement and weighed the case and band on an analytical balance and it comes out to 42.9g (crystal removed too). I'm not sure if the crown or the movement holder are 14k, as I have not had them tested but they do appear to be rose gold as well (maybe just GF). At 42.9g it comes out to a shade over $1000USD (assuming purity is correct). I realize that is not what gold buyers would pay. That being said I am going to set the "starting" price above the gold value to weed out the gold buyers ( I have had an offer of $700 from one of those already). If I found a bona fide collector that I knew would preserve it, I might go lower than the golds face value.
