Watch Description

The watch is small with a band of metal links that stretch to fit. It's a small oval shape with "Bulova" written on the face above the hands and "23" written below the hands. There is no second hand. The back is etched with "Bulova 14k Gold M2". And the bottom says "V12435" which I'm assuming is the serial number. There was nothing on the inside of the casing. The mechanical parts on the inside had etched on it "U.S.A. 5AR Bulova 23 Jewels". I did not find any hidden symbols or codes anywhere, other than the code for the year it was made. I'm not positive if it works or not, I haven't messed with it much. I actually came to own this by accident at a garage sale this summer. I bought a small box with about 10-12 watches for about $4. I ended up finding two vintage Bulova watches and a vintage Bulova travel alarm. I think I got lucky. I just am still researching and learning about the products so I don't really have any history about the watch.

$4 for a solid gold watch by itself is a heck of a deal.

A lovely little solid gold watch. Cost a bit in 1962. $71.50 is worth about $650 in todays money.

I just noticed something that I want to bring to your attention. It may be lighting, but it appears you may be missing a jewel dead center on the movement. Here is a photo from the database of an identical one.

Let me see if I can take another picture in different lighting. My eyes are so bad I can only see it clearly when it's magnified through the camera. I'll get another picture and add it to get your opinion. Thank you!
