The crystal is missing and I'd very much like to replace it. The setting would be flat as the watch case is not curved. Need to know how to determine if it is appropriate for this watch before acquiring new crystal. see photos for some dimensional info regarding the crystal.
You guys are amazing! When I compare the watch to those adds they're really possible matches. I've found that the configuration of the numeral "7" can be different on one or another. I don't know if that means its different named model or Bulova changed that from year to year. I do get the impression that the crystal of one or another, whether from a "Princeton" or "Governor" or "Alexander" even of say, 1932 to 1934, or so...would fit on my watch. Might anyone know? I would seek out one of those if available (even on a non-working watch) for the crystal if it would fit the watch.
The main thing to remember about watch crystals is that they usually differ by mere millimetres, often making them unique to the case. That doesn't mean you cannot grind down a crystal if needed, but it is best to try and get an exact sized one or one ever so slightly larger.
Getting an accurate caliper will help you measure and then determine the correct size. Then hit up eBay with your fingers crossed :-)
