The year is a guess. It does not have a date code indicating 1950 or later.
Agreed, La Petite "J" looks to be a match. It's too bad we didn't get a movement photo to more accurately determine a date. As Ken said, model not available in 1948, and dating by case s/n is an unknown for solid gold post 1949. Perhaps dating by the first digit of s/n (1957) is the way to go for the time being.
A second example of this watch has been added to the database and the serial number starts with 6. If that one and this one have the first s/n digit identified as year, the difference between them is 3,114. If the s/n is taken as not being date, the difference is 103,114. It is entirely possible the "7" in this s/n indicates 1957
