I should also point out that an M6 (1966) should not have a gilt (gold plated) movement as those first started to appear around 1968/1969ish...

When you indicate that the gilt type appeared in first in 1968, are you referring to the areas pointed to in RED?

There is a prob here, that gold ring is for an Accutron 218, someone might have used it in place of the correct 214 dial ring spacer which is needed when the dial is removed...

Astro-

Do you have a part number, picture or the actual correct spacer for this application?

2527 in backing

2527 is the case reference number used for case parts. According to the 1972 ABC catalog the 2527 did not have a chapter ring as shown with this watch.

A conversion is when some takes an non Spaceview Accutron model, removes the dial and adds the Spaceview hands and crystal.

There is a list on case serial numbers somewhere on this site (need to find) which shows what is believed to be the correct list of original Spaceviews released by Bulova.

A later M9 (1969) movement does also suggest that it's not original to the M6 (1966) case.

Admin,

Thanks for that info.

So, the history of my Accutron may be muddier. Oh well, at least I have one. If this one didn't have a chapter ring, it may have had a plain dial I guess.

Searched for "1972 ABC watch catalog" and TV shows from the channel ABC comes up. Therefore, what is an "ABC catalog"?
