All
I'll have the back taken off tomorrow. I was told by my father the diamond symbol on the face represented the Anniversary of Bulova's 100. And it was supplied to selected dealers. Please can some one list the questions I should ask the watch repairer
Thank you for your help

That symbol down toward the bottom doesn't represent a diamond, it represents quartz, but the 100 does represent the anniversary. Many Accuquartz watches had a diamond chop over by the 9. The only question I can think of for the repairman is whether he has any experience with turning fork watches. Someone who doesn't know about them shouldn't be working on one until he learns how.

I would call it a 1975 Accuquartz 100th Anniversary, not to hard to get that mixed up with the others.

Thanks Old Ticker. Do you have any info as to how to confirm this model? I've found on the Internet an advert for what I believe is the same watch however its in Spanish and saved as a PDF rather than and picture and as such I cannot up load it to this forum

Dear Will
As requested I sent pictures via email regarding the movement case etc. I've also updated the watches description the best I could but was unsure as to Case Serial No.: 3-853139 or 7579-1. Pls confirm receipt of the email I sent earlier as I've had problems with my servers date stamp on emails that we send
Regards
Ronald

Accuquartz is the model. The 'anniversary' designation would, in my opinion be speculative until we have a bit more documentation. At the risk of raining on a parade I find it curious that Bulova would celebrate their 100th with a non mechanical or even a non Accutron. Having said that however, I note that in 1975, quartz technology was the 'thing' and that could have been Bulovas reason to use the 'latest and greatest' to celebrate their birthday. (yuck, latest and greatest and quartz in the SAME sentence??!!). It's an interesting watch and a fascinating story.

Dune - the "T" designates "Tritium" on the dial - it's the radioactive stuff that lights up in the dark, The "S" as I understand designates a "Swiss" origin
