If somebody can help me with opening the case then I can get more information.
I'm inclined to go with Craftsman A as the subject watch has a leather band. I doubt very much that if it were the Tuxedo the original gold band would have been swapped out or sold for scrap. I am certain that the original leather band would have worn out and replaced long ago.
Wow...how did we miss this. Nice pick up Rev!The Tuxedo did come witth a leather band unless this advert was too lazy to identify the Craftsman as the model.
The advert above may have (that is not a factual statement)...let me repeat myself ....may have left off the part about the learther version being a different model name. The ad below (same year) does detail the variants.
Subject watch as added to the site = Craftsman "A" is my call.

Sorry, I got a bit busy. I saw another ad where the Tux was offered with leather band for a lower price, but that's the general idea. I wouldn't discount the idea that the bracelet was melted down during a gold spike...kind of like what is happeneing now. That way, the owner could make some fast cash, put the watch on a leather band, and continue to wear it. I am constantly horrified these days at how many priceless heirlooms are being scrapped or irreparably damaged in the rush to cash in. There will be a lot of orphan movts in the years to come, some having been crowbarred out of their cases and damaged.
Based on my translation of official Bolova product lists- not ads (however none of the ads are in direct disagreement w/ below)
Solid gold Tuxedo came on both leather and metal band. There may have been a gold plate variant on leather.
Craftsman came on leather. The data allow me to make an assumption by proxy- there may have been 1.a Metal Mount OR 2. a Red Gold Plate variant. I'm cross referencing trends, but it's more likely to be #2 from above.
There, I've said it. Now lets see if I can back it up.
Craftsman A for me, but not until the year is identified.
If there are no objections I will tag with one as an Craftsman "A" tentative, until such time we have other evidence to show it as a Tuxedo.
Tentative 1947 Craftsman A for me until we get movement info.
Lacking a case date code and based on the case # 7444673, I think this record should be changed to '47. Still 2 ticks though due to missing movement info.
