Here is the Calhoun model. Untouched and unrestored, just received. Working fine.
This has a rare 21 jewel 10ae movement. Most 10ae I have seen have been 15/17j I think.
I will update with better pictures in the future but just wanted to get this out there as there is not another on here.

Calhoun ad above dated 1938.

plain bezel 'BEN HUR'
The only differences between to the 2 Models I'm noting to Date are the 'BEN HUR' is described and shown on a matching bracelet, the 'CALHOUN' on a leather strap.

Fifth What year is the non-engraved Ben Hur ad above?
Yes, I spotted that difference, and the only Calhoun ad has a plain bezel with no engraving.
Unengraved bezel Calhoun ad dated 1938.
Engraved and unengraved Ben Hur ads dated 1937? I think?
If dimensions of subject watch are the same as other "similar" 1937/38 watches on site (without regard to how they are ID'ed), then the differences appear to be mount and/or year of production.
Based on ads to date, do we think the unengraved Ben Hur became the Calhoun in 1938?
I'd say subject watch is 1937 Ben Hur.
The new Calhoun newspaper ad from 1938 is unengraved. The 1938 "Red X" Calhoun ad Plains found (in database, but ad graphic is not working) - if i remember correctly, it was also nonengraved. Plains, can you verify the "Red X" ad, or maybe update photo if you still have it?
