Watch Description

Snag this rare BULOVA 1916 RUBAIYAT  men's trench watch from the bay !!! It seem me and FIFTH AVENUE opened up a new club!! Welcome to me as a new memember !! Just need to find the good pair of hands and a trench strap. Hard to say if i overpay for this (80$us+17$us.ship) but i now own a men bulova 1910 era!

The museum, does indeed have a number of exmples in their collection. Now your journey begins to find a set of correct radium hands.

as i have the same number shape than yours i tought to put the same but lume and black. certainly not going to put orange one.

possibly him.... he serve at first ww at 20 years old and at korea war too and dont fall at the front. there is an other LEO HARPER. He was in the royal navy..... hard to know wich one is.... but the watch came from jhonstown ohio. my research dont make a good link but this watch surely made the war!

Listed in the early 1917 (March?) business directory 

 

Things didn't happen instantly back then as the do today, it's highly feasible, probable; that Rubaiyat Watch Co. was doing business in 1916 and perhaps prior to. 

The subject watch is a WW1 military style 'trench' watch - WW1 officially began in 1914, ending in 1918. 

1916?  

Why not, for now.  We may find out the Watch is earlier or later on down the road.

i will not be surprise if these watch are from 1914! other way, why not put the american standard stamp as we seen on the american made 1915 in the DB if these watch are from 1916? just thinking......

we have to not forget about Bulova had since 1912 a plant at bienne swiss. where he take ebauche from others, put his balance, dial, hands, and probably ship in usa where they cased this movement. The only concern i have with subject watch is : why in 1917-1919 we see rubaiyat movement only stamped Rubaiyat and in 1920 they where stamped Rubaiyat w. co. while the subject watch wear the Rubaiyat w.co. stamp ??? really hazardous....
