It's a shame such a good looking watch has no name, but without proof either way I guess it has to be a unknown.

I have a couple of these Diamond Dial Bulovas in the Unknown file also, sooner or  later an ad will surface and suprise us all!

No worries Bob, I think a few of us share your sentiment here. I'm sure a few of us  have the same watch and would love to ID it. Sooner or later we'll find something that will give us a name.

Ok guys now I'm not offering this as proof but just something to consider. Everyone seems to agree that an Excellency has to have 21 Jewels and a 14k case. While trying to find some proof as to whether or not a 17j Excellency was ever made I found this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vintage-Bulova-Excellency-Fancy-GF-Mans-Wristwatch-/160610912882   10K gold filled case 17j  10BH movement. I know it doesn't look anything like the watch in question but it does say Excellency right on the dial.

Most Excellency models are NOT 14k, most are rgp...as far as sheer numbers go, but 14k is not an indicator or requirement of an Excellency.

Could be a swap Bob - the 10BH was made in a 21 J version - 1953.

I was thinking the same thing Mark. It's a 1950 case. I wish they had a picture of the the movement so we could see a date stamp on the movement.

The statement that only excellency watches have the 5 bump case is not correct. The Acadamy Award ZZ is a five bump case like the excellencuy and I know this because I own one that was verified on this website as the ZZ.

Nice to see an ad showing the 'UNKNOWN' subject in its exact configuration, unfortunately the Watch remains unnamed.
