1950 Bulova with a 7AK 21 jewel movement stamped with a 1949 date code in a 10k gold filled case. This one had been freshly serviced when I bought it. All I've done to it is replaced the crystal. The old crystal had been polished and didn't look bad, but a new one looks better. It's keeping excellent time.

Thanks Neetstuf. This one didn't come cheap, but I thought it was a good deal considering it had just been serviced. I hate servicing the 21 jewel movements.
The lugs and the ribbed dial make this an easy ID Merc. 1950 Bulova Academy Award X, spot on.

Thanks for your confirmation Mr. Baker. First one of these I've had. I've got a doctor now that collects watches along with his brother. He always wants to take a photo of the watch I'm wearing during visits and send it to his brother who also collects watches. He collects the solid gold Omega's. I want ever get to that level, but I may eventually drag him down to my level. Lol!

Love it. Drag them down kicking and screaming...."No not a Bulova!!....oh wait, that ain't half bad."
Great watch. A Bulova Acedemy Award is yet to grace my small collection, but one day...one day....
