This is a very interesting watch.  I definitely don't recall seeing a bezel with faceted edges before.   It would appear an Oceanographer from the dial but I am good with either that or Unknown until an ad surfaces.

Hi I believe it to be the  same as that submitted by Mirtlem back in 2014, which, although not that sharp in the pics has the same bezel , It also  generated a deal of discussion on its labeling!

It is the same watch Dave, I would say that in staying consistent we could also tag your as Oceanographer Quartz but in truth we did not have a good advert to match it to. We took liberty naming that one, it can be found HERE.

Hopefully the linebooks may be of assistance this time around.

Looking now.

This is a stepper motor Quartz, and they last a long time. The slotted screw head south east of the tuning fork logo is the trim pot, and it means you can dial these in if they drift.

One thing about ALL quartz movements, it is best to keep them running. If they are allowed to stop for long periods of time they get very sticky and may not start again. This is where the watch has a pulse, but nothing is moving. While you can get a watchmaker to clean them out, this requires full dismantling of the movement, a fair bit of work. The wheels are often plastic and the idea was they are self lubricating in some instances. Long periods of non-running may also result in a leaky battery, and this will really mess them up.

It's a good looking watch!

Thank you for the insight re the the  stepper movement, The watch wears well and is certainly going to get some wrist time!

I've been through linebooks and find no match as of yet. Based solely on the dial and case configuration, I would say

1978 Oceonographer (no variant)

Hopefully someone else hits an ad or linebook entry.
