Watch Description

Bulova Accutron

Number on the back cover is:  5 56875

The interesting thing about this watch is that it has the Canadian 1978 World Ice Hockey Championship Team maple leaf on the front of the watch, and the words "Team Canada 1978" engraved on the back.  I think it was a special edition created by Bulova for Team Canada.

Gold coloured front and stainless steel back

I have not been able to open the back cover to get more info, but will keep trying.  I know the history of the watch and can give details upon request.

I'm a fan of Ice Hockey (Red Wings), I looked up the team. If I have the correct listing I'd say Marcel Dionne was the most celebrated player? I'd love to hear the story.......was your father on the team?

OH, 1978 Bulova Accutron Date & Day is a good ID

I'm an ice hockey fan too.  Red Wings are a great team.
I don't have a player list for the 1978 team, so I can't say who was the most celebrated. Marcel Dionne could very well be.

Hi LaurenceH great watch. Can you tell us about it? Do you have any history on who was presented the watch?

The watch was presented to Howard Cable, Canada's most celebrated music composer and conductor,  on his retirement as Music Director from the Imperial Room of the  Royal York hotel.   Mr. Cable worked with legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennet, Bob Hope, Danny Kaye and many more during the 1970s and 80s.  The watch was given to me upon his passing.

How did Mr Cable come about being gifted an award watch from Canadian Hockey? Was he some how involved with the team?

I've also sent you an email about buying the watch. Let me know if it didn't arrive.

Hi! This is a pretty cool watch. I see that it’s for sale. Curious how much it is going for? My grandpa is Canadian and would love something like this. How much is it going for?? Is the watch located in Canada? New here, how would one go about purchasing from this site? Thanks
