Watch Description

Attended a professionally run estate sale this past weekend. As one of the first in when they opened door with literally 50 people behind me in line, I went immediately for the "smalls", where I scooped up 5 mens watches spanning a timeframe of mid 1940's to 1976 in a small box  from the estate owner's bedroom bedside table. I held them up and asked "how much?" The attendant gave me a rather condescending look and replied in a slightly sarcastic tone (like it was beyond my means) "Oh, those are $40". I handed him the money and left. The other 4 are hand winders and all ran when I wound them in the car. All keep time. When I got home, I opened this one up, put in a battery, gave it a little shake and it started running and humming. Date is a little weird, it clicks 1/2 way at midnight, finishes at noon and I can't get it to quick set yet. No harm, no foul....... It keeps perfect time (and cost $8).

I am guessing the engraving on the back refers to 25 years service at a local company called Singer Link (CAE Link), They manufacture flight simulators and are an aviation offshoot of Singer (sewing machines).

1976 Accutron Calendar.
