Watch Description

Hello All,   A super 70s piece that I picked up from an auction. Any ID would be interesting.  Beveled crystal (on the inside) and multi-hue dial (I'm calling it "sprite").   Movement is a 1974 (N4) Bulova 11ADACB automatic 23 jewel.  Stainless case is a 1975 (N5) made in Taiwan with the # indicated. Locking ring style opening. Crown has Bulova's now famous tuning fork logo that was used across all movement types. Bracelet was added by me.

Thanks and regards,

Certainly not a Jet Star but Bulova 11673-1W would be an appropriate model for both this and the linked watch.

i found this linebook listing that is a an exact match to case and dial.   It says 17J on the linebook which might be right or an error.    I propose this is a 1975 Bulova Day & Date Model #11656W with a possible movement or rotor swap?

Jim - we've not used the Day and Date naming on any watch but Accutron. We have the reference number from the line book you've posted but a different reference number on the linked watch.

Which line book did you find this in? Once confirmed, I think the name should be Bulova Model 11656 or Model 11673-1W

This looks to be a match, but I don't really see the very pronounced angle/point of the left and right flat part of bezel (not the point of the outer beveled case area)in the ad. Maybe it is there, but it seems to be more curved.

I also think that if the movement was a true 23 jewel, that the dial would have a '23' to match, so that may be okay.

Crystal in ad is not beveled.

I'm still on the fence with this one.

1975 LineBook BAWD0193

Shows the following two models that seem to make this watch (case v dial). Perhaps just another variant we have yet to find.

Bulova watch 12013-9Y vs 12016-2Y

Good find!

Case, crystal and movement is 12013 if "yellow" is replaced with "silver".

Dial is 12016 if "rust" is replaced with "green and yellow".

This movement is the 11AOACB. There is no 11ADACB that I can verify. The only reference I can find is misidentified movements on eBay. No parts or listings for that number in the few catalogs I have.
