Watch Description
The Number on the case starts with J so not sure what that means. The movement appears to have no SN that I can see, although the movement does have "A-40" at the bottom. In addition to the stamped number, the inside back has an engraved number that I could not get to photograph: "A3W423-7". The A appears to be stamped while the 3W423-7 appears to be hand engraved.

1973 Bulova Counselor O is a good match. The "J" number is the serial number of the case, it is inconsequential. The hand engraved number is a service mark, meaningful only to the watchmaker who performed the service. The ink stamped number inside the caseback is the case style number.
