Nice Railroad Approved!  Looks like the watch in the ad you use above.  I can't quite make out if there's a model number in the fine text at the very bottom, and I didn't see that ad on site?

We have this postcard ad (below) which Joe Barkson provided. It is tentatively dated 1961, but I'm wondering now if these postcards could be from a later date?  Yours is not the model "202, but ad says also available in Stainless, which will have a different model number for the Stainless.

An so more then a decade later, we have this 1972 ad snippet for the stainless version, which- like yours- also has Bulova on the dial.

Looks like yours could have a "black calf strap" as originally advertised.

I'm thinking 1973 Accutron model "262".

I'm also thinking we have the postcards Joe provided dated a little earlier than they actually are.

Agree with 1973 Accutron model "262"

Cool watch, I always liked the Railroad model. It's possible I like them more as my eyesite ages. I agree that it's a "262". My question, is it a Railroad Approved 262 or just a 262? I'm inclined, per the ad to the later.

Good question Geoff.  The cumulative model section of Spring 1964 price lists show the postcard model as Accutron "202", without any reference to Railroad Approved.

The "262" is not in this price list, and its the most recent price list we have on site.

None of the Accutron models listed in that Spring 1964 price list have Railroad Approved in the model name or as a "variant".

The "202" is described in postcard ad text as a "railroad model", and the later 1972 ad has "railroad approved" in its text description.

I'm trying to read the fine print in the very bottom of the ad shubaj uses in the root record. I don't see that ad on MyBulova, so I can't get a closer look.

The 202 looks to have a more defined stepped bezel. The supporting ad does not provide a model number in the fine print, only that it is railroad approved at $125 in 10K GF or Stainless, which is also the price of the 262. Watch looks like a match to the 262.

Bulova Accutron Railroad Approved '262'. We have been grouping these in the model listing.

+1  Although we do this "grouping" a little differently, that's how we have been doing it to date.
