1970 Bulova Accutron 218 Date. Stainless steel case that is ~35mm. I don't know anything specific about the model, production or value. This belonged to my Grandfather and was given to me a few years back. It has sat untouched for the last 31 years. I replaced the battery (energizer #344/350) and it runs well. All parts are original, including the Speidel USA 'Twist-O-Flex' band.
I will never sell this. My next step is to make some light cosmetic approvals to the exterior. I would like to clean, polish and see if I can buff out some of the light wear and tear on the case and glass. One day I will look to send it out to be professionally cleaned up.
The noise of the tuning fork (high pitched hum) has taken some getting used to!
Welcome to myBulova. I'm a big fan of heirloom watches, you are fortunate to have this wonderful keepsake from your grandfather.
I think the model is 1970 Bulova Accutron Calendar AM, as pictured below. Bulova would not have used this type of band on a watch, The Speidel is likely a later addition by your grandfather
Line Book is 1971 BAWD0177 pg 16
