Watch Description

-1970 Bulova Accutron Astronaut Mark II 'A'

One of my favorite styles, this is an all stainless steel case with black dial and the 2185 movement. Case is SS and dated M9, case number 2991. Black dial with red accents. Movement is USA made 2185, N0 datecode, added a nice leather strap. Model is almost identical to the 'E' variant, one difference being the home indicator uses a red hand instead of the window above the 6.

Men's 1970 Bulova Accutron Astronaut Mark II 'A'  Watch

Handsome watch in good original condition, serviced movement, and comes with the display box and signed band.

Bulova/Accutron signed case, movement, dial, crowns, band, buckle, and display box.

Case: all stainless steel case and back; overall in good condition, shows some light wear and scratches; approximately 33.5mm width not including the crown and 40mm length lug-to-lug tip; back is signed Bulova and dated M9(1969), case# 2291 stamped inside. Please note the smaller size of the watch.

Crystal: in good condition, clean and clear with light imperfections and scratches.

Dial: attractive original black dial with silver hands and markers; luminous hands and dial (no longer holds a glow); in nice condition with light wear, marks, and aging; signed Accutron | Astronaut | Mark II; red center-seconds hand and home hand (hidden behind hour hand in some photos); upper crown allows for moving the hour hand ahead or back for different time zones; working calendar window at 3:00.

Movement: USA-made 2185 Tuning Fork movement; dated N0(1970); movement was professionally serviced April-2019 by Rob B, and is in good running and functioning condition with a fresh 344 battery; since the service is over a year old, there is no warranty

Band: non-original Accutron black sharkskin strap with signed buckle; in good vintage condition with light signs of wear and scratches, curved from years of being on the holder; lug width is approximately 17.5mm.

Other: Includes the Accutron display box, clean condition inside and outside, showing signs of normal wear and tear and fabric discoloration and stains consistent with age; lid functions as it should. I will also include a printed instruction manual for the 2185 movement.

Please contact me for additional photos and details.

Note, this is a smaller sized watch; please consider this before purchasing

That is a real beauty. Ads and face say it all.

Very very nice. Would love to own one of these one day (when I win the lotto).

There is a small difference between your's and the one shown in the advert. The adverts has the date of 27, yours shows 19.....tentative Accutron Astronaunt Mark II "A"

Okay, good eye on that. There seems to be a few different consistent hand placements amongst the adverts, but I never noticed the date. Out of curiosity, I went back through some Accutron ads and the 19th is by far the most common, next common is the 15th; day wheels typically seem to be Saturday.

You did a nice job on this one Ken. I think this is my favorite of the Astronaut watches, the stainless with black is cool and the red accents really completes the package. I bet you'll wear this one for a while?
