You are absolutely right! The 2011 Complete Price Guide to Watches lists your Bulova as an Accutron Skeletonized, Date, cal 218. C.1967 < first model year. Yes yours is dated 1969 marked M9. The prices in the guide are for a 14k solid gold watch, so I will not list the minimum/maximum price here.

We do not do appraisals here. The key to higher value in watches is the conditiion.

What can I say....being consistent, three checks confirmed. Ranfft lists fifteen movements in the 218 family of movements, all with 13 jewels. 

You have a very desirable version of the caliber 218 Bulova Accutron. When offered, this model wasn't well received and not that many sold. There has even been discussion of whether or not Bulova actually offered this as a factory model or if it was a special order run. I believe the concensus today is that Bulova actually offered this model. Some don't consider this to be an attractive 218 Spaceview version, preferring the 214 instead. This version appears periodically on The Bay. Keep an eye open there and you can get a feel for value.

You are welcome. I, too, find it attractive. The skeletonized bridge, as an official Bulova repair part, periodically shows up on The Bay, too.

Treasure your gift. The case can be restored to like-new condition, if you want, and the movement serviced. Accutron movements can go MUCH LONGER between services than regular mechanical movements but should be serviced if they have not been for an unknown length of time.

1969 Accutron Calendar from me. 

Could be possibly ID'ed by including "non-conforming" in the variant field, if this is a unique "Calendar" model - but that's just a thought.

Yep that's a real deal 218 spaceview all right, you don't see many of those around !
